HISTORY
Embotits Artesants Monts was founded at
the beginning of the 80s, with the objective of offering
cold meats and sausages to the township of Sant Joan
de les Abadesses. The installations only occupied an
areas of 100 square metres.
Within a short space of time, our products
became so well-known throughout the district; that the
increase in demand directed our production towards the
supplying of the best restaurants in the region.
In spite of our relatively short existence
(20 years), our experience in the cold meat and sausage
sector is guaranteed through four generations, as can
be appreciated in the photograph below, where our great-grandfather
is directing the "pig slaughter".
At the beginning of the 90s, sales figures
increased with the opening of a new shop, together with
the attendance at several fairs. The plant located by
the Camprodon Highway was now too small and it also required
modifications in order to adapt the business to the official
requirements of the E.E.C.
The year 1995 saw one of the most significant
steps that we have taken, when we decided to construct
a small plant on the "La Coromina del Bac" industrial
estate, in order to meet the various demands and needs.
These installations were inaugurated at Christmas of
1996
As from this moment in time, we concentrated
our efforts into product diversification, into research
for new varieties and the improvement of the quality
of existing products, all of which lead to a new enlargement
which entered production in the summer of 2000.
In the year 2006 we have again enlarged the installations
in order render service to the demand created by the
exports on the level of the EEC, as well as countries
outside the EEC for the incorporation of new lines of
elaboration, such as Ecological Charcuterie and Charcuterie
Halal and so as to reach the expectations of the most
demanding clients.
